GREEN CARD (Immigrant Visa) APPLICANTS

 

A Green Card is a document indicating that the holder is a legal permanent resident of the United States. As a legal permanent resident, the green card holder remains a citizen of his or her home country, but must live primarily in the United States.

 

A green card allows a foreign national to work for any US employer and allows him/her to travel internationally without having to visit a US embassy or consulate to obtain a visa.

A green card holder is expected to be physically present in the U.S. for at least 6 months each year.
